LOUISBURGH SPACE CAMP - PLUTO WOW!
Saturday 6th October Books@One Garden Room (12-1pm)
For children 7-12 yrs
A Special Space Camp for Space Week! This time it's a drawing workshop about NASA's New Horizons Mission to Pluto! During the workshop, Artist/Astronomer Deirdre Kelleghan will lead the group in a detailed drawing of this fabulous world. Booking essential - Cost €10 per child
PARENT & BABY REFLEXOLOGY CLASS
Six week course commencing Wednesday 10th October in the Bookshop Annex (10-11am)
This course with Jennifer Rutherford is proving really popular and has been up and running in Westport for 18 months . It's a great opportunity for parents to learn basic Reflexology techniques involving issues like Colic, teething, digestive issues, constipation, sleeping difficulties and much more, in a relaxing and informal setting.

THE NATURAL HISTORY OF SOUTHWEST MAYO
Wednesday 10th October in the Bookshop (7-9pm)
Eoin McGreal, Conservation Ranger with the National Parks & Wildlife Service delivers a fascinating biodiversity talk on our local natural history.
Admission free - ALL welcome.
AUTUMNAL RE-USE WORKSHOP (PART OF OCTOBER RE-USE MONTH)
Saturday 13th October in the Bookshop Annex (3-5pm)
Urs Harttung of Bearfoot Enterprise, facilitates an Autumn-themed workshop for kids of 7 to 99 years! Younger kids must bring a Big Kid or an Adult to help them.
Admission free - ALL welcome (you need to bring your own milk carton and juice bottles. Wash them out beforehand, just rinse them with cold water and let them dry...)
BOOKS@ONE DOES PUPCAKE DAY
Saturday 20th October (1 -4pm)
We love dogs at Books@One (there's always a cuddle, a treat or a bowl of water on hand for furry visitors) and we're doing our bit for Dogs Trust again this year. Help us "bake a difference" by coming along to our bake sale for this wonderful cause. Bring cake, buy cake, bring your dogs, bring yourselves - it'll be fun. Last year our dog-friendly cup-cakes went down well - even with some humans!!

From Saturday 27th October all the way through to Wednesday 31st have we got a Hallowe'en Party going on!
Lots of Scary Story Times, Special Spooky Space Camp and a special Fancy Dress Open Mic - "Mic or Treat!" You supply the talent and we'll supply the treats. There'll be fun and games for kids of all ages.

BOOKSHOP TEMPORARILY CLOSED - MONDAY 1ST TO TUESDAY 16TH OCTOBER
We're putting in a new shop system - it's very exciting and we've a lot of preparations to make so please excuse our absence for a couple of weeks.
As you can see, we're carrying on with workshops, events, online business and of course our Co-Working Space will remain open.
We're sorry for any inconvenience and look forward to reopening on October 16th.
Mayo born, Sally Rooney's latest release has been long-listed for the Man Booker which means it's flying off our shelves.
Similar to her debut novel, Conversations with Friends (our August 2017 Book of the Month), Normal People is also full of social observation drawn from Rooney's own world. The novel follows Connell and Marianne, two young adults from the west of Ireland who are about to embark on new lives in Trinity College.
